  Trails are well-marked, but avoid any points of interest. You may look at the map and see them loop past a river and a couple of small lakes, but don't be fooled - you will only glimpse these through the trees. More to the point, the park's rangers don't understand their own payment procedures. You may fill out a day registration form, put the payment in the envelope, leave it in the green drop tube, and set the registration in a clearly visible place on your dashboard, but you will still come back to find a strongly worded notice tucked under your wiper, telling you to pay up or face arrest the next time you even think of venturing into a Michigan state park. Note: procedure may be different for in-state residents. Also, bring bug spray.
